Shower Yoga

So many mom's tell me they have no time for yoga. I get it. I get it, I don't (or won't) have time to wake up an hour early and bust out a 60-minute Vinyasa flow to start my day, then go about a shower, begging with my child to wake up for school, pack lunches, make breakfast...get to school, get to work...

But there is a solution. A quick, easy, silent, lovely, incredible solution.

Shower Yoga.

I know, it sounds nuts, but if you are with me mom's, really, where else do you get 5-minutes of peace than in the bathroom?

This is a quick 5-minute flow you can do in your shower.

INSERT DISCLAIMER HERE - Visit your physician before trying these at home, and please ensure you have some safety mechanisms on the floor of your tub or shower so you don't slip, crack your head and bleed to death.

Shampooing - Lift your hands wide to your sides and up and above your head, begin to scrub your hair. Exhale, drop hands to side. Repeat lifting your hands wide to your sides and up above your head. Make sure you breathe in when you lift your hands and out when you lower down. While letting conditioner soak in, exhale tilt head left, inhale back to center, exhale tilt head right, inhale back to center.

While washing lower body - Forward fold at the waist, leading with your chest. Come up to half back, with hands on shins and let your back feel a rinse while scrubbing those thighs. Bend your knees and round up gently.

To wash your feet - Sitting in the shower, if possible, come into a staff pose, legs extend out in front, use a flat back, lean forward (take a baby bend in the knees if needed). Scrub the foot.

Washing your back - Formulate a cow-face pose using your arms, wrapping them around your front, reaching to the back.

There you have it a quick sequence you can do in the shower to start your day feeling a little more relaxed and ready to take on the world.
